Located in the heart of Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter, GULP is uniquely intimate offering a venue for hire, with the option of outstanding hospitality.

Nestled in a stunning Grade II listed building in Birmingham’s thriving Jewellery Quarter sits the creative studio of Kaye Winwood and her unique hireable venue, GULP.

Kaye created GULP to offer a one-of-a-kind meeting, dining, and creative space for curious appetites with a taste for the extraordinary. Kaye has teamed up with a handpicked selection of chefs and artists offering the best in dining and creative experiences for discerning appetites (see below).

KAYE WINWOOD

  • Kaye’s work fuses sensory design with visual arts and gastronomy to create new and meaningful eating environments which enthral diners and audiences.

    In Autumn 2021, she launched GULP to showcase innovation within food and sensory design through a programme of sensory dining experiences and activities.

    She has created immersive dining experiences for clients including Barbican, London; Flatpack Festival, Birmingham; Midlands Arts Centre, Birmingham; Museum of Royal Worcester.

ARTISTAN EPICUREAN

Modern | British | Seasonal 

  • Suzanne Russell, founder of Artisan Epicurean, is an experienced chef with a genuine passion for food, in part due to her Italian grandmother, Anna, who naturally influenced how she cooks to this very day. Her style is a fusion of Modern British, Italian & French, a combination of textures & flavours with a twist on nostalgic classics.

    With a career spanning over three decades in professional kitchens and leading restaurants, leaving her fully equipped to offer something more personal, bespoke & unique for those looking for something a little special.

OX & ORIGIN

Classic |  French | Modern

  • Josh Porter has worked in hospitality for 19 years up to Michelin starred level and has run a private chef company for the last 8 years, cooking for some high-profile guests. He can cook most cuisines but has an affinity towards classic French techniques; his food takes inspiration from that and is modern yet unfussy. He is happy to create bespoke menus and work with guests to make sure the menu suits their needs.

ANNABELLE DAVIS

Patisserie | Seasonal | Bespoke

  • Annabelle Davis is a Le Cordon Bleu trained pastry chef and currently works as a chocolatier, whilst also working freelance in recipe testing and development. She also runs a patisserie business, Honey and Rye, which provides bespoke options such as celebration cakes, afternoon tea packages, and canapé catering. In particular, she loves creating bespoke options using seasonal ingredients and interesting flavour combinations.

    Annabelle also loves sharing her passion for and knowledge of pastry through small group workshops which can be designed to suit the skill level of the group.

    Birmingham-based artist and Drink and Draw founder Felicity Blades has teamed up with GULP creator Kaye Winwood to offer a range of creative workshops designed to inspire. 

    Perfect for groups, these hands-on sessions include activities such as drawing, life drawing, collaging, and painting — all set in a relaxed, welcoming setting.

    With extensive experience hosting events for local venues, corporations, and charities, Felicity brings a fresh, informal approach that encourages participants of all skill levels to unwind, explore their creativity, and connect through art.
