A Sensory Tour of Own Code II

Thursday 4 June 2015, 6-7pm – Aston Webb, Rotunda, University of Birmingham, B15 2TT

Kaye Winwood Projects was delighted to work in collaboration with the amazing creative culinary team Blanch & Shock toward a ‘A Sensory Tour of Own Code II’ – a bespoke, gastronomic guided tour of an exhibition of paintings by Edurne Esponda, ‘Own Code II’.

This sensory tour included a series of edible experiences which were developed to encapsulate the ingredients and colours referenced in the paintings and produced an experiential tour where the audience was introduced to tastes and textures found in traditional Oaxacan food whist enhancing their viewing experience and interpretation of the work.

This project was programmed as part of University of Birmingham’s MEX/BHX festival to celebrate the Year of Mexico in UK.
